William MacRae LLB (Hons) Dip LP NP, Senior Partner

Willie MacRae attended Edinburgh University, where he obtained an Honours degree in law along with a Diploma in Legal Practice. He trained with Messrs. Drummond Miller and after spending further time there as an Assistant, joined Liddle & Anderson in 1994. Since that time, Willie has adopted Bo’ness as a home from home and is a member of the Bo’ness Round Table and the Linlithgow & Bo’ness Rotary Club. While continuing to undertake a variety of work including domestic conveyancing, wills, trusts and executries, he now heads up Liddle & Anderson with a special interest in commercial work for small to medium sized businesses. He has an interest in assisting both land owners and developers in the purchase and development of ground. Willie also has experience in commercial work ranging from business purchase and sale, through representing clients at commercial mediation to commercial litigation. Outside work hours Willie’s interests range from motorsport through wood-turning to learing to snowboard with his son.

Marysia Waddell LLB Dip. LP NP, Partner

Marysia Waddell is a graduate of the University of Dundee, and has experience of working both in private practice and the public sector. She joined Liddle & Anderson in 2004. Having a broad range of experience in conveyancing and property sales, Marysia now heads up our domestic conveyancing team. She is also well versed in family law, general civil court practice and personal injury cases. Her other interests currently include studying Polish.

Dermont McCarroll LLB NP, Consultant

Dermont McCarroll graduated from Edinburgh University in 1967 with an LLB degree. He worked with various Local Authorities before entering into private practice in 1972. Dermont took over as Senior Partner of Liddle & Anderson in 1993. He has a wide range of experience in many areas of general private practice, ranging from conveyancing through to family law, as well as commercial work. He has a particular interest in financial advice regarding Trusts and guardianships. Dermont is also a recipient of the Cavaliere OMRI, an Italian Order of Merit of the Republic. He currently works part time for the firm as a consultant.

Mirella Marchini LLM NP, Solicitor

Mirella Marchini graduated from the Università degli Studi of Genova with a law degree. She completed her two year traineeship in Milan before passing exams to join the Bar association of Milan. She is an experienced and fully qualified Italian Avvocato. In 1996 she moved to Scotland and enrolled in a post-graduate LLM degree at Edinburgh University, which she completed in 2001. It was also during 2001 that Mirella joined Liddle & Anderson as a full time solicitor. Mirella obtained her qualification as a Scottish solicitor in 2006 and she is also a Notary Public in Scotland. Mirella handles all of our Italian legal work, which is outlined in our “Italian Law” page

Joyce Hobbs LLB (Hons) Dip. LP NP, Solicitor

Joyce Hobbs attended Aberdeen University where she obtained an Honours degree in law along with a Diploma in legal practice. She has recently completed her two year traineeship with Liddle & Anderson and is now carrying on with the firm as a fully qualified solicitor. Having experienced a broad training at the firm, she now undertakes a variety of work including domestic conveyancing, court work and leasing. She also assists the other solicitors in the firm particularly with large or complex transactions
